Nick Anderson
Nicholas Anderson is a PhD student in the Aerospace Engineering department working under the guidance of Professor Francesco Panerai with the assistance of professors Greg Elliott and Kelly Stephani. His primary area of research in CEESD is the use of sum frequency generated vibrational spectroscopy to study the surface chemistry of carbon samples exposed to chemically reactive, high temperature gases. His main research interests include hypersonic aerodynamics, experimental spectroscopy, and atmospheric entry. Nicholas was raised in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois and graduated with his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2020.
